Reasons I should not be allowed on the internet:

I stumble upon purple things and then I want to buy them. Even if they are ridiculous

I am so obsessed with this tik tok dress that I spent nearly an hour searching for it and cheaper look a likes. But the real thing is 700 dollars and The best dupe was still over 300 and not as cute. And like I super don’t need a prom dress. But like I COULD make use of a super fun 30th birthday dress and my house is basically butterfly themed already…. But not for 700 dollars. Sadly.

But a purple a waffle maker that makes heart shaped waffles with a space for sticks?? For only 30 dollars?? That one I may actually get. I would probably only use it like once a year but it would be perfect for galentines with my chocolate fountain, and I do have the storage space. So that one may be a birthday present to myself.

Constantly torn between I need to stop spending money on ridiculous things and make a good salary and I can buy some of the fun things I want.

Saw 4 SEPARATE SPECIES OF BUG IN MY STUPID APARTMENT TODAY (none of them were bed bugs at least but they were some of the other bug species I loathe and fear the most) I know the fact that its really hot is probably the main reason they're being so active and getting in here, but God damn I'm already crawling through zillow to find my next apartment and I've still got 11 months in this lease. If I ever see a cave cricket in this house with my own two eyes I'm breaking the fuckin lease tho I can promise you that

#please god let autumn and winter here be peaceful #also ive definitely learned my lesson about cheap rent and older homes #i was so enamored by the historic crown molding and original floors when i toured this place that i didnt notice the cracks and holes #methinks i will go for a newer renovation next time #budget be damned #i also might try further out of the city like northwest #but i dont think the bf will be into that #(even though he really liked the house my parents lived in when we started dating WHICH WAS IN ALMOST THE EXACT AREA IM LOOKING)#i didnt like that neighborhood that much bc there were no trees but in the neighborhood just northeast of there #its more tree lined and spread out #and theres a really nice luxury apartment building thats got big units within our budget and its only a 5min walk from the train #but his response to that one was 'i dont want to spend 6 buckd getting to work every day' well bitch. you only work 3 days a week #and its only 4 bucks so shut up #ive decided that if he doesnt help me find a new apartment then he doesnt get any input bc he didnt help me find this place #and look how that turned out #all he did was veto most of my ideas #he didnt lift a finger to contribute #well thats not completely true he did suggest a lot of apartments but they were all ones id already vetted #and he didnt help with lease negotiations at all

ngl i've been kinda surprised by the lack of veilguard stuff i've seen on my dash since it released - i've very thoroughly given up on it, but even ppl who seemed hyped about it have largely just... not been posting abt veilguard at all.

then i looked in the da critical tag and, uh, yeah. i can understand why. it's not an actively bad game, but it sounds to be very... shallow and mcu-ified? i'll admit i had basically given up on veilguard, but i did kinda want bioware to prove me wrong. not that i would've bought it anyway given the way they've treated their company veterans. it's just such a shame.

#weirdly though reading ppl's thoughts on veilguard makes me want to continue my da:o replaythrough even more #origins is *so* good #it may have its issues and god knows i've spoken about them #but you can see the creativity seeping out from the limitations of 2009 tech #bioware #dragon age critical #da2 did its damn best too given how quickly they had to crunch that game to release #inquisition even had its moments as much as i don't care for it #anyway. thank fuck i still have obsidian inxile larian and owlcat for great rpgs #see i want to add logic artists to that list bc i've been playing expeditions rome recently #and my god. i'd guess the budget is a bit/fair bit below owlcat's typical budget for their games #but it's still really fun and playing as a female character is a delightfully (and sometimes depressingly) impactful choice #BUT the studio got fucking dissolved by the founders so they could create a new studio focused on the goddamn blockchain #zero points for the founders all the points to the actual employees who clearly loved the setting they were working with

i think i officially set my sights on a therapist and i'll be contacting her very soon?? therapy was legitimately not on my 2024 bingo card (or in the cards for me at all) but here we are????

#this blog always had a focus on social science and detangling feelings and experiences. like it's basically been serving as my diary #bc this blog has always been my main outlet for it. i hate talking feelings to anyone irl. it's a bad habit but i hate it #so it was a game changer and helped me grow up sooo much. esp supplemented w other people's experiences.#being raised by a stoic engineer mother who's very much warm but also not very good at feelings at times has caused me to suppress SO much #compounded w being the eldest daughter. like that is a damning sentence in and of itself #tumblr just gave me an outlet for stuff like this. and every social media is essentially a highlight reel of ppl's best moments.#tumblr is the opposite. i've always loved that too whether it was in the form of humor or more earnest posts #could i work through my own issues by myself? yes probably #and my blog will always have that facet even if i get a therapist #but a therapist's input. just a professional's input. will expedite a lot of improvement for me i think #this has been a critical time period for me anyway bc i'm budgeting my whole schedule for once vs being handheld by uni deadlines #and it's just gonna keep getting more and more intense from here bc i'm truly pushing my comfort zone more than ever before #it just feels like the right call even tho i'm lowkey nervous ab it bc i HATE talking feelings in person.#this therapist will not fall for my trying to deflect by asking her about her life. which. usually works on my friends <3 #we will see. a therapy arc is coming very soon basically #p
